Hey guys! Last week I got back from Dublin and had to host my work’s Trade Show. Then, this weekend I had to move! Finally, things are settled and I can finally blog.
This post marks the end of my travels and so I tried to jampack as many activities as I could in the one day we got to stay in Gatwick.
Eric and I didn’t look forward to flying back to Canada, so as we had our one night at the Gatwick Airport, we planned an excursion to London that evening!
Fortunately for us, the airport has an express shuttle that runs directly from Gatwick to London. It can get there in less than half an hour and it comes every fifteen minutes!
We arrived at Victoria station and I couldn’t help but find it funny that I live in Victoria and still can’t shake its grip on me abroad 😅
We immediately stopped at a bar to get a feel for the people and pricing of food.
After having a couple, we headed out and realized that Buckingham Palace was on our street. So, off we went!
The architecture always reflects so much history and culture. I especially like this shot because the subjects look like they’re marching.
Seeing this made me so excited! Kate and William had visited Victoria a few weeks before, so I found it ironic that I was visiting their home now.
These next couple of photos were super difficult to edit since there was a huge spotlight on us but it was overcast and dark outside.
Next, I took some photos of the surrounding architectural features, statues and monuments.
This is the beautiful angel we saw from afar.
Finally we ended the night at another bar before heading home.
You can guess why I chose this place lol (the name).
After spending the evening in London, we hurried back to Victoria station. As I thought about returning back to real life, I made sure to take some photos to get one last look at European infrastructure.
We stayed at the Hilton in the Gatwick Airport and were put up in an Executive Room. It included a free breakfast buffet so I made good use of that! 😁
I loved their Executive Lounge. Free drinks from 6:00pm to 7:30pm every night!
I loved my stay in London and Dublin and can’t wait to visit Europe again ASAP.
