Cobble Hill Cottage

Hey everyone! It’s been a quick minute since my last blog. But I’m back again with another travel post!

Eric and I wanted a quick weekend getaway so we looked at surrounding areas on the island. We opted for Cobble Hill, so see what we had in store!

We spontaneously decided on the Thursday to go away for the weekend and browsed Airbnb for some options.

I couldn’t wait for the hosts to reply to my requests so I filtered search results to instant books. Mary-Anna & Gary’s place was one of the few places available with instant book, so we did!

I messaged them with my plans and they replied same business day letting me know that they’d be racing us back after work on Friday.

We arrived on time and Gary greeted us out front. Mary-Anna met us at the cottage and just went over general house rules and close by amenities and attractions.

They told us that the cottage was Pre-World War and it definitely seemed to hold a lot of character. We used their deck every morning and night to enjoy the sights of sounds of nature.

I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area as Shawnigan Lake, Duncan and Cowichan Bay are all within a half hour drive.

After checking in and relaxing, we headed out to Hosuka Sushi for dinner.

Loved the food and the building looked even better!

After winding down, we walked to the local pub and just relaxed and chatted. Eric showed me what pull tabs were and the first batch I pull contained the highest win, three 8-balls equaled $150! 😁😁 Pretty much paid for our whole stay, awesome!

Our first night was quiet, but the next day we visited the cute town of Cowichan Bay. I took lots of photos so I can’t wait to showcase them, stay tuned!
