Phillips Backyard Weekender July. 7th – 9th

Hey guys! The last long weekend of the summer is drawing to a close and I thought, “I better upload those blogs before I’m overwhelmed with too much to do.”

So, be prepared for a barrage of posts! 😛 Now, onto our first of many events of the summer.

Phillips Brewery is a popular Vancouver Island craft beer establishment. Every year they hold an event at the venue in their backyard, hence the name. The event showcases local talent and beers!

This was the first time I bought tickets to something with nobody to go with. I really wanted to go out of my comfort zone in order to meet new friends. This has really helped me this summer as I have done and gone to a lot of things I would not have in the past, especially alone.

This was what I wore on the Saturday of the event. Just a plain black cami you can get anywhere (ForeverXXI, Costco, etc) and some cute patterned shorts from Urban Planet! Accessories complete the look with my tortoise shell sunnies (zeroUV), black choker and moon necklace (wanderlust + co).

The ANIAN stage I preferred a lot more as they played more of the music I was into.

The food trucks were also lit af.

I thought their beer making machine was rad also.

As you can tell I spent a lot of time at the ANIAN stage lol

This was when the food trucks got ridiculous. I always made sure to eat before noon as it was a 1-2 hour wait afterwards! The washrooms were even more poorly managed.

Look at that clusterfuck.

Just enjoying the music from here onwards..

After this, we just slowly winded down as I was pretty drunk at this point and wanted to head home.

This was the cluster of lineups for the food trucks. Insane.

Last set before I left!

Turned out to be such a nice evening..
